Should we allow more Muenches?

The association has been contacted by Muench relatives whose connection goes one generation back, to the father of Georg, the Elder (and the grandfather of Friedrich, Georg and Marie), whose name was Johann Rudolph Muench.  The question is:  Do we want to broaden the scope of our association to include this branch of the family (which starts with Johannes Lorenz Muench, who was the brother of Georg, the Elder)?  Johannes Lorenz sons, Ludwig and Martin, immigrated to Missouri in 1849.

I tend to think we ought to, but I would like your thoughts.

Yes, I think that opening the membership to those descended from people one generation earlier would be great!

Holding a large reunion the summer of 2014 would be wonderful.

Again, thank you for doing this. Aren't we fortunate to have electronic mail?! Those in 1984 worked quite hard to get the group that they did together.

Yeah, that must have been quite a feat. I would love to speak with any of those involved in making the 1984 reunion a success to gain from your experience. I was there as a college student but have no idea who was in charge.

Yes, definately include earlier Muenches. Jim! The website is awesome. Thanks for your work on that. Very Impressive! I would love to see us include descendents (if we can find them) of the the original inspirational rebel, Karl Follenius who was a mentor to Frederick Muench and to Paul Follenius, his (Karl's) younger brother, who was Frederick's best friend and married his (Fred's) sister Marie, my 5th great gramma.
I Haven't filled our line yet but was happy to find my "Uncle Paul" who was the last owner of Mt Pleasant prior probition. He married my great aunt ,"Tanta Walda" nee Staudinger.
I'll sent progress report asap on restoration fund and the upcoming touring presentation from Germany.

I would love to get more info. regarding Paul Follenius. Also, I would like to know more about his wife, Marie (and the sister of Friedrich and Georg Muench). It's too bad that we appear to know so little about her. Likewise, I would like to know more about their older brother who remained in Germany.

Sure, any information we can get is great. I want this site to be a Muench community resource. Anytime we can share information, that's a good thing.

Hi! I would like to see Johannes Lorenz included, as he is my 4 greats grandfather. I just stumbled onto the Muench Family Assn. and was pleased to see the Descendent Report for Johann Rudolf! So far before, I had only known about my 2 greats grandfather Eduard. His son, also Eduardo, emigrated from Germany in 1850, went to Cincinnati, then back east to New York City, ending up in Jersey City, NJ

We indeed decided to broaden the scope of the association one generation back, so the Johannes Lorenz line of descent is indeed included. If you would please submit as much as you know about your ancestry and your contact information using the contact form on the website, I can share it with Karl Muench, who is our genealogy expert. Thanks.
